"A man is hard as a stone and gentle as a flower," says the proverb. The duality of human life and the life of nature is still the main task for Khalilov, and, of course, now all things seem to him more alive, tangible, although the task itself has not become any easier. Khalilov persistently tries to catch and fix the complex volatility of life. Recognition, recall is bordered on by surprise, freshness of the first feeling. Khalilov accustoms himself and his spectator to the concentration, slow thinking. This is the path where it is possible to further improve and deepen what has been done.
The manner of his painting, his adherence to complex color schemes, the desire to combine subtlety, fragility and strength allow us to express our feelings and experiences quite accurately. Khalilov the artist understands and conveys the subtlest shades of human feelings. It is possible that the attractiveness of his outwardly modest canvases lies in the tangibility and, at the same time, the intimacy of human experiences. The space of compositions opens suddenly, drawing the viewer into it, depriving the viewer of observer status and turning them into a participant. It is rapidly approaching us, endowed with modern energy and crystallizing the liberated sign. In this artistic system, nothing but the language of universalization and destruction of all boundaries, the language of the rapprochement of painting, music and words are in search for itself, where the inner directly passes into the external world where we are, and the external world plunges into our consciousness, alternating like inhalation and exhalation. Each statement of the artist is an open, non-closed figure, which, with its open edge, is poured into other forms. It is almost impossible to trace where one semantic unit ends and another begins. They penetrate each other imperceptibly, rise up, contrast and conduct a dialogue, like an ancient Azerbaijani song.
